Learning to Dance in the Rain

It's been a dark-sky June here in Northern, ID.  A customer at work told me on Tuesday we have had only 1 day without rain in the last 3 weeks. This dreary weather and wishes for more sunshine has been the talk of the town. On Tuesday evening, we made it to the 3rd inning before the umpire called our intramural game due to lightning.  Another softball game cancelled!

The rain was coming down like crazy, and everyone ran off to their cars for shelter and headed home.  Well, everyone except for the people I convinced to stay and play with us in the rain.  Nicholas, my mother in-law, cousin, aunt, and a teammate Dotty, all stayed for batting practice.  Rain or shine, we wanted to play ball!

Life is about finding joy in the little things.  Being soaking wet, running through ankle-deep puddles like a kid, and spending a Tuesday evening giggling with family with just a bat and ball for entertainment.  It was the highlight of my week!

Later that night, Nicholas and I sat on our back patio, sharing a blanket and a chair, and we watched a majestic lightening storm take place right above our heads. If we can't make this wet weather go away, we might as well enjoy it while it's here.
